Frequent Questions
1/ Why should my child see a pediatric dentist?
. Visiting a pediatric dentist is essential for your child's dental health as they specialize in the unique needs of growing teeth and gums. They create a friendly and comfortable environment tailored for children, making dental visits less intimidating. Additionally, pediatric dentists are trained to handle the specific behavioral and developmental challenges that young patients may face.
2/ At what age should my child have their first visit?
. It's recommended that children should see a dentist by their first birthday or within six months after their first tooth appears. Early visits help ensure that their dental health is monitored and any potential issues are addressed promptly.
3/ What routines should be encouraged?
. We advise you to have your children brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and floss daily. Schedule regular check-ups to catch issues early, and promote a balanced diet low in sugary snacks. These habits will help ensure your children maintain healthy smiles.
4/ What is a dental emergency? When should we call the dentist?
. If your child experiences severe tooth pain or a knocked-out tooth, it is important to contact us....even if it is after hours. A dental emergency can also include swelling in jaw or face, which may indicate an infection. Prompt attention is crucial to prevent further complications and ensure your child's comfort. Always trust your instincts—if something feels wrong, don't hesitate to reach for help.
